My Psychotherapy & Approach
Individual therapy is appropriate for those dealing with personal feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem or for those who are seeking personal refinement and/or self-identity within relationships.
Many individuals will seek therapy to work through specific life changes or stressful life events such as loss/grief, illness, relocation and interpersonal relationship issues. Those in couples or family therapy may also find benefit with individual sessions to explore inner thoughts & feelings and improve self-evaluation and emotion regulation. Individual therapy may be brief or extended depending on the topic each patient chooses to work on. Many different therapeutic techniques may be used to explore feelings and change habitual behavioral patterns.
Couples’ therapy assists partners in improving communication, expanding intimacy, emotional connection, and understanding one another effectively. You and your partner will learn to incorporate the tools necessary to communicate more effectively, increase intimacy, and resolve conflict. The following are some of the challenges that couples may encounter: Parenting, Pre-Marital Counseling, Divorce (and blended families), Money, and Infidelity.
Being a teenager can be very complicated, and many teens face a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. Some of these issues include substance abuse, depression, and eating disorders. As a parent, it can be difficult to decide with the best solution is to help your struggling or troubled teen.
One plan of treatment for teens who are struggling is psychotherapy. Psychotherapy can be helpful for a variety of issues because it helps adolescents to deal with the emotional root of destructive behaviors and helps adolescents to learn how to overcome those emotional and behavioral issues.
Evaluate your mind. Speaking with someone is the first step to in making positive changes.
